About Alyssa Corrigan

Alyssa Burkert is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant, nationally certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the state of Illinois. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Biology before attending the Kettering College Physician Assistant Program. During one of her rotations, she found her passion in dermatology and knew that was what she wanted to pursue after graduation. Shortly after moving to Chicago she discovered her new home at Lakeview Dermatology. She is passionate about making her patients look and feel their best and loves helping patients create a personalized skin care routine.

It is standard practice, when you book a female provider for a cancer screening where you will be exposed, that they ask you if it's okay for a male assistant to be in the room. Alyssa absolutely did not get my consent, made no effort to keep me covered, the assistant made no effort to avert his eyes when i was exposed, and despite the fact she could tell I was brutally uncomfortable, at no point asked me what was wrong. Additionally, I was wearing a mask and when I had to take it off for her to examine my face, she made no offer for her or the assistant to put on a mask themselves. I felt really stressed and I will absolutely tell everyone who will listen not to go to a single IDI office. Their providers do not respect you or your body.

So easy! The staff was super friendly. I booked the night before and they sent me a link to the patient portal and that made everything go very smoothly once I got there. The PA was very friendly and knowledgeable. She noticed a scar of mine was a little bit raised, so she injected it and it flattened out immediately. She's great!

Dr. Corrigan was very kind and personable! Really took the time to hear me out and provide me with answers to any questions I had. The wait was a bit longer than I was expecting, but the office was quite busy. A little lackluster in the overall office appearance/some dirty stuff in the sinks but great care.

Overall, I was very pleased with this appointment. Alyssa Corrigan was very professional and thorough. She was patient and explained everything very clearly. My only complaint was related to check-in; I informed the receptionist that I had already completed all of the paperwork on Zocdoc, but she told me I had to fill it in again on the clipboard since I didn't print everything from Zocdoc and bring it with me. That was very annoying and inefficient. Otherwise, this was a positive experience.

My experience was OK. The staff was helpful and timely but both the medical assistant and the dermatologist seemed extremely rushed. I didn’t feel like I left the office with much direction or increased understanding of the causes for my concerns but I suppose if the medications work then it was overall a successful visit.
