About Alyssa Shaffer
Alyssa Shaffer is an experienced family nurse practitioner at Oshi Health who specializes in GI issues with a subspecialty in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Prior to her work with Oshi, Alyssa worked as a nurse practitioner in large academic gastroenterology practices. While practicing at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Alyssa worked with world-renowned IBD specialist Dr. Miguel Reguiero in the IBD Medical Home. She also collaborated with Sherman Prize winner Dr. David Binion. At the Allegheny Center for Digestive Health, Alyssa practiced with Dr. Gursimran Kochhar, an advanced endoscopist performing endoscopic stricturotomies.
When she’s not working with patients, Alyssa loves to spend time with her two sons and husband. She also loves getting lost in a good book and trying out new restaurants.

My CRNP (Alyssa Shaffer) took the time to really dig into my history of digestive issues and worked to coordinate my follow up care so that I can tackle this chronic issue with confidence.
