Getting to know Alyssa Weglarz

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience working with individuals across the lifespan. My background includes supporting patients with mood and behavioral disturbances, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and dual diagnoses. I believe in providing compassionate, individualized care that integrates evidence-based treatments with a collaborative approach, empowering patients to play an active role in their mental health journey. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood, while working together to develop strategies and treatments that foster growth, resilience, and lasting well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to create a warm, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and supported—without judgment. I take the time to listen to your story, understand your challenges, and work with you to find solutions that truly fit your life. Together, we’ll explore what’s affecting your mental health, develop a personalized care plan, and make adjustments along the way so that you feel seen and empowered in your journey. I want you to feel safe asking questions, sharing concerns, and collaborating on your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we first meet, I focus on understanding you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. We’ll review your mental health history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. I take a collaborative approach, meaning we’ll discuss all treatment options together, including medication, therapy options, and lifestyle strategies, so you can make informed decisions about your care. After our initial session, I create a personalized care plan and schedule follow-ups to monitor progress, address side effects, and adjust treatment as needed. I encourage open communication, so you always feel comfortable sharing changes in symptoms, concerns, or questions about your care.

Alyssa was super nice, validated my negative experiences and did not assume they were less traumatic and damaging than my memory suggests, and was very personable and easy to talk to. She knew how to ask questions to fully understand the various problems I’m experiencing without asking for too much
