About Dr. Aman Samrao
Dr. Samrao obtained her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She then attended medical school at the University of Southern California. After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Samrao worked as a clinical research fellow in the University of California, San Francisco’s department of Dermatology, where she studied and acquired an expertise in the dermatologic subspecialty of hair loss. She then worked as a clinical research fellow in the department of Dermatology at Oregon Health and Science University, conducting clinical trials for a variety of skin disorders. She completed her residency in 2014 in the division of Dermatology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and obtained her board certification from the American Board of Dermatology in 2014.
After residency Dr. Samrao worked at Kaiser Permanente in the Central Valley where she was Chief of the Department of Dermatology. She was also one of only three hair loss sub-specialists in the entire Northern California region of Kaiser Permanente. While at Kaiser Permanente, she continued to pursue research in hair loss. Dr. Samrao left Kaiser Permanente to pursue private practice at the end of 2022.
Dr. Samrao has a passion for accurately diagnosing and treating skin and hair disease. In addition, she loves to help people achieve their aesthetic goals in a way that enhances their natural beauty and uniqueness.
In her spare time Dr. Samrao enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and son.

When I asked about a few skin tags, she offered to freeze them. I’d never had that done before. It was in a sensitive area and I was given no post care instructions. I had an event immediately following and I was in extreme pain. It is now 6 days later and there is scarring and the skin tags are still there.
What I would have liked would have been to be given the option of snipping them off vs freezing, and pros and cons of each, and also post-care instructions.
Additionally, I’m guessing I have a few more on my back; though I can’t see them, I can feel them. I would have appreciated her calling those out as well and giving me options.

The Dr. walked in with no physician uniform. She acted more like someone from the office asking a question rather than a Dr. afterwords I had to go check if she actually was a doctor.

Would not recommend and won’t be returning. The doctor was unfriendly and her demeanor/body language came across as bored and uninterested—She stood close to the door with hands in her pocket, giving the impression that she was ready to bolt out. I was doing most of the talking and her answers to my questions mirrored ones given in an interrogation in which people give minimal, short responses. Not sure why I had to lead conversation. She didn’t ask me questions. No body exam. The appointment lasted maybe 6 min. It was so quick I didn’t even have time to complete the patient history or intake forms. Knowing I wouldn’t return, I just gave the iPad with the forms back incomplete. I felt so unwelcome I was torn between either to stop asking questions to leave as fast as I could, or to ask questions in order to get more words out of her to get my co-pay/time’s worth.

The doctor came in with an extremely unpleasant attitude. She hardly saw me for 5 minutes & the entire time acted like she was extremely busy to rush to the next appointment. I’ve never seen appointments are made only for 5 minutes for any doctor so I am extremely bewildered. Does not appear on Zocdoc what duration the appointment should be. She gave answers in one line on my condition - you can get better responses online.
