About Dr. Amanda Mccord

Amanda McCord, MD, IBCLC, earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2020 at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, Texas, after graduating magna cum laude in 2015 with her bachelor’s degree in the University Scholars Honors Program at Baylor University. She completed her Pediatrics residency at University of Texas at Austin, Dell Children’s Medical Center, in 2023. Dr. McCord also earned her lactation consultant certification in 2023 and joined Kelsey-Seybold in August 2023. Dr. McCord wanted to be a physician since she was a child, going on to find the most joy in her Pediatrics rotation of medical school. She enjoys keeping children of all ages healthy, from newborns to teens, providing both acute and preventive well care for her patients. Her clinical interests include newborn care, new parent education, and breastfeeding. She is also certified to perform circumcisions. For Dr. McCord, being a physician is a privilege that gives her the opportunity to connect with patients, help families through hard times, and celebrate their health successes with them. Dr. McCord is a dog mom to a black lab named Max. She is also an avid gardener who enjoys cooking in the evenings with her husband.
