Dr. Chung is excellent. He reviewed my children's medical charts thoroughly. He was also my son's previous doctor at Maimonides medical center.
She’s amazing and so sweet. I love her!! She really makes the kids feel really comfortable. And she respects any decisions you make for your child.
Dr. Mei Wong has excellent bedside manner. Always addressed my questions comprehensively. She's able to provide various suggestions and opinions for concerns.
She was humble and was on point with communicating about my child’s health and what needs to be done like how to eat right and exercise etc etc .
Dr. Shih has incredible bedside manners!! She listens carefully and was extremely knowledgeable. My daughter loved her!!!
Dr. Kantrowitz was able to see us right away. She gave us clear, concise advice and was very considerate, gentle and warm with our infant daughter. We would definitely continue seeing her in the future.
Dr Kochin seems very knowledgeable. My son was a bit reticent to talk about his issues at first but the doctor did put him at ease. I thought his initial consultation was thorough. My biggest issue was the wait time. Also, his front desk staff were not that nice.
Visit was good. Dr. Soohoo addresses and explains our concerns in details and it was easy to understand. I've recommended my relatives to visit her.
Survices was over all good. Dr. Zhu is attentive and will address our concerns. We were here almost an hour too early for our appointment today. But, there's some wait time usually reguadess if you arrive early or on time.
Dr. Au is very good. She is very patient and is a very good listener. She will hear our concerns with patience and addresses it in details.
Love Dr. Chao. She is very informative and pays a great deal of attention to your child. The wait time isn’t bad and every one in the office is very friendly. The office communicates very well and does everything pretty fast. Dr. Chao and her entire team is so efficient and knowledgeable. She sees a lot of patient but takes the time out to stay up to date with her patients. I love her attention to details. 5 star all around!
New York Pediatricians
The American Academy of Pediatrics defines pediatrics as “the specialty of medical science concerned with the physical, mental, and social health of children from birth to young adulthood.” In other words, a pediatrician is a doctor who provides a broad range of healthcare to newborns, infants, children and adolescents until the age of 18.
Pediatricians have varied preventative and diagnostic responsibilities, from conducting physical exams, to dealing with emergencies such as fractures. A pediatrician can gain additional training to specialize in fields like oncology, cardiology, urology, neurology or gastroenterology. Pediatricians have specialized training in managing children’s health and focus on treating childhood illnesses. This distinguishes them from other physicians and makes them well-equipped to maintain your child’s overall well-being.

A pediatrician’s training
After completing medical school, a doctor must undergo at least three years of specialized residency training in pediatrics. During the medical residency, the doctor is trained to treat a wide range of conditions. After the residency, a pediatrician may opt to take a written exam to be board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
When to visit a pediatrician
It is never too soon to choose a pediatrician for your child. It is important to find one who is gentle, yet competent to provide the best care. The first two years are known to be crucial in terms of a baby's development, and you will likely have to visit the doctor’s office a few days after birth, followed by frequent checkups for the first several years. Once your child has turned 3, the frequency of visits will lessen, as advised by the doctor.
Visiting a pediatrician for routine checkups, even if your child is not sick, can help promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness. Regular immunizations may be required, and physical checkups help keep track of the child’s health and development. You should feel free to make an appointment with the doctor, even for the most seemingly minor reasons such as medicines and behavior of the child.
