Getting to know Dr. Amanie Salem

My goal as a psychiatrist is to provide the best evidence-based, integrative care for my patients, working with them to foster positive change and achieve their goals through psychotherapeutic methods and/or medication management. I am board certified in psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry, and I use this expertise to build foundations for patients' long-term success. I treat children, adolescents, and adults, striving to make each session productive and collaborative. I offer a variety of services, including psychotherapy and medication management, and see patients with a wide range of conditions. I provide care via telehealth in New York, Missouri, and California. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University, completed my residency in psychiatry at Saint Louis University, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of California, Davis.     Dr. Salem was extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. She was easily understandable in her explanation for the course of treatment. I felt comfortable throughout the sessions that we had and felt that I was being listened to and understood.
