About Dr. Amira Bekhit
Amira Bekhit, DPM, MD, graduated from the College of Medicine at Ain Shams University, one of the top medical schools in Egypt. Dr. Bekhit worked as a missionary physician and radiologist in Africa for more than three years. In 2013, she moved to the United States to start a new journey. After successfully completing the US Medical Licensing Examination, she earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Bekhit served as Chief Resident at NYU Langone Hospital, Long Island, where she completed three years of extensive post-doctoral podiatric residency training. Her training included wound care, foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine, and diabetic foot salvage. She is especially passionate about limb salvage. Dr. Bekhit pursues ongoing education to maintain the highest levels of accreditation and stay current with the latest and most effective conservative and surgical treatment options for various foot and ankle conditions. She is qualified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Bekhit believes comprehensive foot care begins by combining her extensive medical experience with proper patient education. She ensures patients have the information needed to make informed decisions, and together they tailor individualized care plans that align with their goals and lifestyles through evidence-based medicine.
Traveling has been one of the highlights of her life, offering overwhelming and eye-opening experiences. In her free time, she enjoys baking and spending quality time with her husband and two daughters.
