Amy Disla, PMHNP

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
I'm Amy Disla, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing compassionate telehealth care to adults in Florida and Washington. I specialize in psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, sleep concerns, and difficult life transitions. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe effective treatment begins with feeling heard, respected, and understood. During our visits, I take time to learn about your symptoms, experiences, strengths, goals, medical history, and daily life. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that feels realistic, supportive, and aligned with what matters most to you. Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I spent seven years working as an emergency room nurse. In the ER, I cared for many people whose emotional pain and mental health needs had gone unrecognized or untreated until they reached a crisis. Those experiences inspired me to focus on psychiatry and provide patients with earlier, more consistent support in a calm and judgment-free setting. I understand that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, especially if you have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or uncertain about medication in the past. My goal is to create a safe space where you can ask questions, discuss concerns openly, and participate actively in decisions about your care. When appropriate, I incorporate supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, education, and practical lifestyle changes alongside medication management. Care is offered through convenient, secure telehealth appointments, allowing you to receive thoughtful psychiatric support safely from the privacy and comfort of your own home.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
