Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
MD
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner that has over 20 years’ experience in the mental health field. I received my post-Master’s certificate in psychiatric mental health from The University of Maryland, School of Nursing. Additionally I have a Master's degree from Loyola College in Clinical Psychology. I perform thorough psychiatric evaluations and medication management. I am proficient at managing psychiatric medications for adults with Depression, Bipolar Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia, OCD, and Anxiety Disorders. However, my expertise is in managing complex cases that are multi-faceted by utilizing innovative medication delivery systems, groundbreaking new medications, and novel individualized interventions. I know it can be difficult to squeeze another appointment into our already very tight schedules; often leaving one's mental health neglected. This is why I offer telehealth services. People can get the treatment they need with little interruption to their daily schedule. Weekend and Evening hours are also available by request. ?

What should a new client know about working with you?

I primarily work with the individual to manage symptoms with medication while promoting more comprehensive care including therapy, primary care and holistic approaches. Although, I can refer you to a therapist, I myself do not conduct therapy. I believe therapists are more properly trained for this type of work and I would be doing you an injustice in trying to provide you this service.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the first visit I will complete a psychiatric history and provide education on medication options that I think would be helpful. The choice to take medication is completely up to you and we will discuss any concerns you might have. I will also provide insight into other treatment options that would be beneficial and supply you with resources to connect to those services if you wish.
