About Amy Spangler

Amy Spangler, PA-C, a native of Western Maryland, is a NCCPA-Certified Physician Assistant with considerable experience in diagnosing and treating conditions of the skin. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Kettering College of Medical Arts, and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska, she has practiced dermatology since 2003 at offices in Greenbelt and Ellicott City, MD, before joining Maryland Dermatology Associates in 2015. Amy has experience in pediatric, adult, as well as cosmetic dermatology, and is especially interested in managing cancers of the skin. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and is currently seeing patients in our Eldersburg, Mt. Airy and Westminster offices.

As a new patient, I was treated very well and I will return. Thank you.

The Physician's Assistant did not methodically assess entire my body during annual skin check (example: she did not lift up the back of bra straps or bra band nor look at the back of scalp - areas where I would not be able to see myself). Given my age of 65+ years, history of having several abnormal skin lesions removed for further examination (which was done from this same Dermatology office, so history is available to provider), I felt the exam was poorly conducted. The provider came into the exam room, asked if I had any areas of concern, looked at those areas, then had me stand up to quickly look at my back, and said "see you in one year" and left the exam room - that was the exent of the exam.
