Getting to know Ana Guzman

🌿 Trauma Therapist, EMDR, and Immigration Evaluations Virtual appointments--Safe video call appointments English & Español We provide Psychotherapy Services for: Individuals and families Many people continue struggling to feel truly happy, safe, or connected in their relationships without fully understanding why. You are not alone. Often, these emotional wounds are connected to past traumatic experiences that continue affecting daily life long after the event has passed. Trauma can come from both “big” and “small” experiences — childhood abuse, neglect, emotionally unavailable parents, toxic relationships, domestic violence, immigration-related trauma, bullying, accidents, loss, betrayal, or living in survival mode for years. Even when life appears “fine” on the outside, unresolved trauma can continue showing up as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, emotional numbness, people-pleasing, anger, relationship difficulties, or constantly feeling overwhelmed. As a trauma-focused psychotherapist trained in EMDR therapy, I help individuals process painful experiences so they can stop reliving the past and begin feeling more present, confident, and emotionally free. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and focused on helping clients create lasting emotional healing — not just temporary coping. Healing is possible, and you do not have to go through it alone. Ana Yansi Guzman, M.A.,LMFT License #53110

What should a new client know about working with you?

20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A PSYCHOTHERAPIST

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Many people come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted from reliving painful memories, anxiety, or past experiences over and over again. I specialize in trauma-focused therapy and EMDR, which many clients describe as “EXERCISE FOR THE BRAIN.” EMDR helps the brain process and heal painful memories that may still feel emotionally overwhelming today. Together, we safely revisit these experiences so the brain can finally “clean out” and reprocess what has been stuck for years. Many clients notice they feel calmer, lighter, and less emotionally triggered over time. Therapy is always done at your pace, with compassion, support, and a focus on lasting healing — not just temporary coping.

The psychotherapist Ana Guzman is very kind and smart. I didn't think I would have ever overcome my anxiety and depression. My relationships with my husband, children and work are the best that they have ever been. I even got a raise at work because of her help. I'm happier than I've ever been. I highly recommend her services.
