About Dr. Anan Haija
Dr. Haija concluded his residency at Penn State University, Hershey Medical Center, followed by his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Committed to delivering empathetic patient care, Dr. Haija strives to enable individuals with arthritis and autoimmune diseases to lead lives as close to normal as possible. Central to his approach is empowering patients to actively participate in managing their conditions, a philosophy that is the foundation of VIP Rheumatology. Dr. Haija served as a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology. He also co-authored a book chapter titled “The Role and Impact of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus” for the Rheumatic Disease Clinics in North America. In addition, he co-authored a book chapter on “Complementary and Alternative Therapies” for the 3rd edition of Current Diagnosis and Treatment in Rheumatology. Dr. Haija holds medical licenses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and remains an active member of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. He also gives lectures nationwide on the treatment of autoimmune diseases to other physicians.

Dr. Haija is very thorough, asks pertinent questions (even if at the moment they may not seem so). He is calm and has amazing bedside manners. Made me feel at ease and I was comforted by his knowledge of my issues. Would highly recommend (I already have!).

This was probably the best experience I’ve had with a doctor. He listened and really took in and thought about the things I said. He was kind, extremely helpful, and is extremely passionate about getting his patients back in working order. I could not recommend Dr. Haija enough!!
