About Dr. Anchal Dureja
When patients want friendly, professional, and thorough podiatric care, they come to Dr. Anchal Dureja. She prides herself on making her patients comfortable and helping them heal as quickly as possible. Dr. Dureja has worked in a private practice in New York for about eight years, before moving to Northern Virginia. She carries an invaluable experience with her to work with various foot problems and diversity of population.
Dr. Dureja graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook with a B.Sc in Biochemistry. She received her Podiatric Medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed two residency programs – the first at St. Vincent’s Midtown Primary Podiatric Medicine Program (PPMR) in New York, and the other in Podiatric Surgery at the Northport DVAMC Surgical Residency Program in New York. Dr. Dureja performs treatments across the range of podiatric care including consultations for gout, infections, nail problems, problems walking, neuroma, heel pain, fractures, strained muscles, warts, bunions, hammertoes, corns/calluses, arthritis and diabetes.
Dr. Dureja boasts a varied research background, including work on gait analysis using Musgrave, Vicon 370 TM, and Kistler force plates. Her medical lectures include “Nail Matrixectomies,” which she delivered at the Podiatry Grand Rounds in February 2005. Dr. Dureja is licensed by the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners through level three, along with being Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine, and she is qualified to practice podiatry in Virginia, New York and New Jersey.
She is happy to meet with patients in four different languages, including Spanish, Hindi, and Punjabi. When not caring for patients, Dr. Dureja enjoys working out, hiking and traveling with her husband and twin boys. She also loves to relax and catch up on her reading.

I was having extreme pain in my foot, so bad it was painful to walk, she found the root cause, treated me and today I'm so grateful that I went to her yesterday because my pain is nowhere near how badly I had been suffering for days. Don't go here!!! I went in for a corn removal and initially Dr. Dureja seemed very friendly. She gave me local anesthesia, but didn't give any time for it work before she started removing it with a scalpel. Then, when I started flinching from the pain, she asked if I could feel it and I said yes, I can feel it very well and it's making me nauseous. So, she said she'd give it a couple more minutes. I could still feel the sharpness when she started again and she again asked if I could feel it, I said yes, and she said "oh" and continued removing it. Then she seemed to be getting annoyed when I was still in pain and told her I can feel everything. My foot wasn't actually numb until she was about done. Terrible experience. Then, she had told me she was only going to charge for the anesthesia and not the trimming, but I get the bill and not only did she charge for the trimming, but there was a new patient charge I wasn't told about! I said I'm not paying for the trimming since she told me she wouldn't charge for that, but I keep getting calls for the full amount. Awful experience, awful doctor.

She was lovely, I went in at 1 pm and was seen right away. I had a piece of glass lodged in my foot and we took care of it right then and there with some anesthesia and a simply probing procedure, and got it out! Very thorough, I'm seeing her again to follow up, and look forward to it.
