About Dr. Andrea Persaud
Dr. Andrea N Persaud is a board-certified dermatologist who has been in private practice in New York City since 2004.
Dr. Persaud achieved her medical degree,MD, at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, performed her medical internship at NYU-Bellevue Hospital Center, and completed her dermatology residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Her educational background also includes four years of dermatopharmacology fellowships at both Mount Sinai and the NYU School of Medicine-Tisch Hospital. Dr. Persaud has been involved in numerous clinical trials and her research has appeared in multiple publications. She has also been an invited lecturer at events including the 3rd Annual Mount Sinai Winter Symposium and the 19th World Congress of Dermatology in Zurich, Switzerland.

It was easy to make an appointment. The wait wasn't long. My visit with the provider felt rushed. I had to ask to be numbed prior to the procedure. This didn't make me feel confident but what I went there for was taken care of.

I love this office but will be going back to my original provider at the same place, rather than Dr. Persaud. Advice from doctor was confusing and unclear, despite multiple questions and attempts for clarification.

Dr. Persaud spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me and did not listen to my concerns. I have had chronic flares and eczema issues over years and she neglected to listen to my medical history and would not look at my photos I collected to better understand me.
She also stood far away from me during the appointment and only came a little close to inspect my flare. As a black women, this makes me very upset.
Finally, as a well informed student-medical professional, I find it very concerning that she prescribed me with a topical steroid to apply to a very sensitive skin area when there are various other options that are less likely to cause skin thinning and damage.
I do not recommend this doctor.

Very rushed — dr zoomed right out, not asking if I needed anything else. I wanted a small bandaid after the injection in my face, but the assistant just said “the room is yours!” And left. So I rummaged around drawers and no bandaid. Front desk staff eventually gave me a large regular bandaid (for my face).

Dr. Persaud is the most kind, friendly and comforting doctor with whom I’ve ever interacted. She listens to concerns and is very professional and efficient. The whole team was kind and helpful, too!

Went for a delayed reaction to a Yellowjacket attack. Dr called in the wrong cortisone and was unaware of the danger of infection getting worse, which it did. No one answers in the office —waited for a hour.
No mention of prophylactic rx for antibiotics—- now going to Urgent Care.
Zoc Doc was gd at redirecting my urgent care navigation online yesterday, but this visit potentially put me in danger by not addressing possibility of further infection.

The doctor moved really quickly almost to the point where it felt like she was not listening or giving enough attention and care to the diagnosis. She was however helpful in describing what the best next steps should be. Additionally I would have liked to receive discharge paperwork with a summary of the visit, diagnosis, and next steps.
