“I saw Dr. Andrea Trowers regarding skin concerns I had. Dr. Trowers came into the room in which I was awaiting her, addressed me politely and ask what was ongoing in with me. She was warm, she listened, and she diagnosed my symptoms. She went on to explain everything and prescribe me needed medication. She fully explained when and how I’d need to use the medication. Side note… there was another dermatologist in training who sat in on my visit with Dr Trowers and the way Dr Trowers kindly interacted with her as well was very telling of her demeanor and the culture of her office. Every person in the office if kind and helpful. I’d certainly recommend. ”

About Dr. Andrea Trowers
Dr. Andrea Trowers is a Board Certified Dermatologist who provides personalized care for all conditions affecting your skin, hair and nails at her private office in Miami, Florida. Her areas of expertise include cosmetic dermatology, laser hair removal and pediatric dermatology.
After graduating from Georgetown University, Dr. Trowers attended medical school at Emory University. This was followed by a dermatology residency at Case Western University, where she was selected to be the Chief Resident.
Due to her interest in rare genetic conditions presenting in children’s skin, she was selected to be Dr. Lawrence Schachner’s Pediatric Dermatology Fellow at the University of Miami. She is only the second Dermatologist from the United States to have completed this prestigious, specialized training.
Dr. Trowers was then a faculty member at the University of Miami’s Department of Dermatology, where she is still voluntary faculty. She then worked with several leading cosmetic dermatologists in Miami before opening her own practice.
Dr. Trowers sees all ages, from a few days to senior citizens, and treats all skin types and colors. To all of her patients Dr. Trowers provides information regarding their condition and a treatment plan in understandable terms.
Her staff is friendly and attentive, realizing that excellent patient service is required.

The wait time from the time of check-in to seeing the doctor was an hour and 15 minutes. The doctor explained when she arrived that this was due to an unexpected emergency earlier in the morning. The office should have communicated this to the waiting patients before leaving them in an exam room. I waited in the exam room for an hour, and was never checked-on or given an update on how much longer it would be. My time should be respected too.
When Dr. Trowers finally arrived, she did apologize for the delay, but our conversation was rushed and I didn't feel like she gave me enough time to ask all my questions. Total time with the doctor was about 10 minutes, which included a skin cancer evaluation, a skincare consultation (which was very basic information, not tailored to my skin), and questions on laser hair removal. As a brand new patient, I expected her to ask more questions about my medical history and my current goals or concerns.

It has been years since I have been to Dr. Trowers office, but it was just as I remembered. Beautiful, clean and very friendly staff. The ladies there are very helpful and Dr. Trowers does not keep you waiting and she knows her stuff. It’s these many reasons why I came back after 6 years.
