Getting to know Andrew Guro

Adult psychiatric provider specializing in ADHD, anxiety, and burnout in high-functioning adults. Focused on accurate diagnosis and practical, evidence-based treatment to improve attention, emotional regulation, and daily functioning. I work with adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, OCD, and stress-related burnout. Care is structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to each individual’s symptoms, history, and functional goals. Treatment may include medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive, skills-based interventions when appropriate. The focus is on improving day-to-day functioning, stability, and long-term symptom management within a comprehensive treatment plan. Controlled medications, when indicated, are prescribed only after a full evaluation and as part of ongoing clinical follow-up. Treatment is not automatic and is based on medical necessity and appropriate diagnosis. Andrew Guro is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He earned his Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Vanderbilt University and his B.A. in Psychology from Emory University. He has experience in inpatient and residential psychiatric and addiction treatment settings. In-network with Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Oscar. Private pay available for out-of-network patients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding your symptoms, history, and goals in detail. I take a structured but collaborative approach to learning about your emotional, cognitive, and behavioral experiences so we can develop an accurate diagnosis and an effective treatment plan. During this appointment, we will discuss your current concerns, relevant personal and medical history, and how your symptoms are affecting your daily functioning, including work, school, relationships, sleep, and overall quality of life. This helps ensure that treatment recommendations are tailored, appropriate, and clinically sound. My approach is evidence-based, patient-centered, and focused on practical improvement in functioning and symptom relief. Treatment may include medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive strategies when appropriate, always guided by clinical evaluation and ongoing follow-up. I emphasize thoughtful diagnosis and individualized care rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. The goal is to create a clear understanding of what you are experiencing and to build a treatment plan that supports long-term stability, improved focus, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. You can expect a professional, nonjudgmental environment where your concerns are heard, your questions are welcomed, and your care plan is developed collaboratively.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After your initial psychiatric evaluation, follow-up visits are focused on tracking your progress, refining your diagnosis when needed, and adjusting your treatment plan to ensure it continues to match your symptoms and goals. Care is structured and ongoing, with regular check-ins to evaluate how you are responding to treatment, including medications and behavioral strategies. Adjustments are made thoughtfully based on clinical response, side effects, and your personal experience. My approach is collaborative and practical—you are actively involved in every step of decision-making. We work together to identify what is improving, what is not, and what changes may help you feel and function better. When appropriate, visits may also include supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and skills-based strategies to help with focus, anxiety, mood regulation, stress management, and daily functioning. The overall goal is to provide consistent, evidence-based care that is responsive, individualized, and focused on long-term stability and meaningful symptom improvement.

I am in-network with several major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Oscar, and Oxford. If you are using one of these plans, your copay, deductible, and estimated cost (if applicable) will typically be displayed at the time of booking and confirmed through your patient portal. For patients who are out-of-network or uninsured, affordable self-pay options are available. Please note that I am currently not in-network with Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance plans not listed above (including BCBS/Florida Blue and Ambetter). After booking, your insurance eligibility will be verified through the patient portal. In most cases, verification is completed instantly; however, some plans may require manual review, which can take a few business days. If there are any differences between the estimated costs shown during booking and your actual plan benefits, this is typically due to plan-specific deductible or coverage rules. We recommend reviewing your insurance benefits in advance, and you are always welcome to reach out if you need assistance understanding your coverage or billing details. Our goal is to maintain transparency and make the insurance process as smooth and predictable as possible so you can focus on your care.

If you are apprehensive about seeking help, please don't be. You will be in good hands at this practice.
