About Andrew Mastro
I believe in the partnered journey, no matter how big or small the issue might be. It’s my responsibility to ensure all patients feel heard and cared for during that journey.
Andrew is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA), completing his Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Rush University College of Health Sciences, Chicago. He completed his Bachelor of Science at Indiana University, graduating with honors. He is a guest lecturer and trains PA students at Rush University while serving in the same capacity at Northwestern University.
Andrew holds executive board positions as the acting Vice President of the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (ISDPA) and as a Rising Editor on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Dermatology Physician Assistants (JDPA). In addition to clinical dermatology, Andrew serves as both a consultant and speaker for numerous pharmaceutical entities, and a sub investigator in multiple active clinical trials. He joined DeNova research in 2019, focusing on advancing treatment within the inflammatory landscape. Andrew has a special interest in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, though his practice spans medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Andrew is an artist, triathlete, and avid live music fan outside the clinic. He also spends many of his “vacations” on hiking expeditions and adventure trips.

I was prescribed two prescriptions for POD. One topical and one oral. They didn’t even file it with my pharmacy at first or my insurance. I was later informed that my blue cross blue shield PPO insurance was rejecting the topical due to issues from the dermatology office. By far worst experience I’ve had at a clinic. My face in burning and I paid for a clinic visit to do absolutely nothing for me.

This was my first time going to a dermatologist and I was pretty nervous but the entire staff made me feel super comfortable from the initial nurse (I forget her name but she was lovely) to Dr Andrew. Dr Andrew calmly diagnosed me and gave me treatment options with a clear path forward. I would highly reccomend this office if you’re looking for a dermatologist.

I never met the doctor. I am not sure who it is I met with. When you book a primary care physician you want an ongoing relationship with a care provider. This office doesn't give you that.

I came because I was suffering from eczema that had spread over my body after a few stints with topical steroids. The eczema (possibly TSW) was heavily infected and I was desperate for relief. The day of the visit I had discovered some antibiotics I had leftover from a ob-gyn visit and took them. I asked Andrew if the antibiotics would get rid of the infection in my skin and he said Yes. No questions asked for my underlining condition tho. I left with a prescription for new non-steroid creams and at the beginning of the 4 week process to start a biological. Within 2 days I had to go to the ER bc of the infection. I told ER that I was advised the antibiotics I was taking would cure the infection on my skin. They advised that was NOT the case and they had to cure me. The same day in the ER I get a call from this office that I was approved for the biological. Felt rushed and like they care more about my money than my health. Cancelled my future appointment and seeking help elsewhere

My PA Andrew got straight to the point while making sure to explore all options and not moving forward with anything until he knew I understood the choice I was making. His MA was great as well. She was prepared and knowledgeable. Booking was easy and my prescriptions were filled incredibly fast with prompt delivery. Definitely recommend.
