Hi, I'm Angel Barrios, MSN, PMHNP-BC. I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and my goal is to make seeking mental health care feel comfortable, collaborative, and free of judgment.
I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and other mental health concerns. Whether you're navigating something new or have been struggling for years, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
I believe the best treatment comes from working together. I take the time to listen, answer questions, and develop a treatment plan that fits your goals and lifestyle. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with practical coping strategies and education, so you feel informed and involved every step of the way.
Reaching out for help isn't always easy, and I appreciate the trust it takes to begin that process. What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. During our first appointment, I take time to understand your symptoms, personal history, goals, and any previous treatments to develop an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. When appropriate, this may include medication management, brief supportive psychotherapy, and lifestyle recommendations. Follow-up visits focus on monitoring progress, optimizing treatment, addressing concerns, and helping you achieve lasting improvement. I believe in shared decision-making, ensuring you feel heard, informed, and actively involved in your care throughout the process.
