“Angela was great. She was kind and had a non-judgmental attitude. Many times with skin care, it's really hard to be openly talk about your troubles and not feel embarrassed or shame, but Angela was a great listener. Her medical assistant was also very nice and welcoming.
The only issue I found questionable was that the medical intake wasn't as thorough. No one asked if I ever had skin cancer, or if I had a mole I was worried about, or if I was pregnant. No one asked exactly what my skincare regimen was - what if I was already using something they had prescribed in the OTC form? I'm sure they would've addressed everything if I had asked, but I don't know everything and, as experts, I would think they would be checking up if there was anything I should be concerned of.
Front desk could be a little more friendly as I found them on the dry side. Water and seltzer is offered in waiting area.
Overall I had a good experience. I would just make sure to know exactly what to ask for.

About Angela Hyo Kim
Angela Hyo Kim is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and her Master’s in Family Nursing from Columbia University.
Before joining The Dermatology Specialists, Angela worked as a registered nurse on a cardiac telemetry unit at North Shore University Hospital. After obtaining her Master’s degree and discovering her true passion, she began her career in dermatology as a nurse practitioner and has since been treating patients of all ages with various skin conditions.
Angela is dedicated to providing individualized care that meets each patient’s unique needs. She understands the profound impact dermatological conditions can have on daily life and strives to help patients feel their best in their own skin by addressing both their medical and cosmetic concerns.
A native of Queens, Angela is fluent in Korean and is continuously improving her Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, learning about new cultures, and trying new cuisines. She is also passionate about skincare and staying active through yoga and Pilates.

I was not very happy. Not sure if the doctor was annoyed with us or something else was bothering her but she seemed like she didn’t want to speak to us. My 6 year old daughter was the patient. And she wasn’t warm at all but rather short and standoff-ish.
