Getting to know Angela Messan

Life doesn't pause for a crisis to feel manageable. If anxiety, depression, or trauma are running the show, I can help you take the wheel back. I treat anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, burnout, insomnia, and OCD, combining medication management with real, practical support. What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first visit will focus on getting the full picture, not just symptoms, but your history, your goals, and what "better" actually looks like for you. From there, we build a plan together. I lean on evidence-based medication management, but I also draw on my years of frontline nursing experience to bring practical, real-world strategies into our sessions. I keep visits collaborative: you know your life best, and my job is to bring clinical expertise and honest guidance, not a one-size-fits-all script. Follow-up visits are typically shorter and focused on how things are progressing, adjusting as needed along the way. Sessions are 100% virtual, so you can meet with me from home, work, or wherever's easiest. I aim to create a space that feels calm and judgment-free, especially for anyone reaching out during a hard moment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First, we have an intake visit. This is where I get to know you, ask about what's going on, and learn about your history. Together, we figure out what's happening and what kind of help might work best for you. After that, we make a plan. This might include medication, some everyday tips to help you cope, or connecting you with a therapist if that would help too. Follow-up visits are shorter. We talk about how the medication or plan is working and make changes if needed. I'm not a talk therapist, but I do like to check in and hear how things are really going, not just go through a checklist. How often we meet depends on where you are in your care. At first, we'll meet more often. Once things feel more stable, we'll space visits out.
