Anh Tran, APRN, RN

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
VA
I'm Alice, a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC) providing psychiatric care to adults ages 18 to 60 across Virginia. I specialize in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy. My approach is grounded in a simple belief: healing begins when someone feels truly heard. Appointments are offered through telehealth, which means you can begin care from a place that already feels like yours. I grew up between two worlds, Vietnamese at home, American everywhere else. That experience shaped how I practice. I understand what it means to carry something that doesn't have an easy name in either language, and to need a space where your whole story is welcome. Whether your concerns are new or longstanding, you deserve care that is thoughtful, personal, and centered on the whole of who you are. Tiếng Việt is welcome here, and so is whatever you arrive carrying, whether named or unnamed. If you're ready, or almost ready, I'd be honored to hear from you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Seeking help takes real strength, and I want you to know that you don't have to do this alone. My hope is to offer a space that feels safe and unhurried, somewhere you can be honest, feel genuinely heard, and receive care that is thoughtful, kind, and centered on you as a whole person. If this is your first time seeing a psychiatric provider, the process may feel more familiar than you expect. The first appointment is simply a conversation - a chance to understand your experiences, your symptoms, your goals, and what you're hoping care might feel like. From there, we build something together. It's worth knowing that what shows up as anxiety, low mood, difficulty focusing, or emotional exhaustion can sometimes have roots beyond what's visible, things like hormonal shifts, thyroid changes, medication effects, or other physical factors that deserve a thoughtful look. A careful evaluation considers all of this, not just the symptoms on the surface. Sometimes a clear picture emerges in the first visit. Other times, understanding develops gently over a few appointments. Either way, my approach is collaborative and unhurried, the goal is always for you to leave feeling a little more supported, a little more understood, and a little more confident in the path ahead.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first step is usually the hardest. You don't have to do it alone. Here's what it looks like to begin care. Step 1: Book an appointment with Alice Step 2: First evaluation - 60 min via secure telehealth in Virginia Step 3: Build a plan together - Collaborative care tailored to your needs Step 3: Ongoing care - Medication management and supportive therapy
