Getting to know Dr. Aniruddha Deka
I am a Yale-trained psychiatrist, double board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
I treat adults with a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, psychotic disorders, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders.
My additional training in consultation-liaison psychiatry gives me particular expertise in caring for people whose mental health concerns occur alongside complex or chronic medical conditions.
My approach is evidence-based, personalized, and collaborative. I take time to understand your history, current concerns, and goals rather than approaching treatment as one-size-fits-all. I also believe you should understand the “why” behind your care, so I explain my diagnostic thinking, treatment options, potential benefits, and risks so that we can make decisions together.
Our first visit is focused on developing a thorough understanding of what you are experiencing and what has or has not worked in the past. From there, we develop a plan that may include lifestyle changes, medication, psychotherapy, further evaluation, or neuromodulation when appropriate. My goal is to provide thoughtful care that combines current scientific evidence with an understanding of you as an individual.

I had a favorable appointment with Dr. Deka. He is clearly knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. He is a great listener. I did not have to repeat myself in our discussion.
