Anjali G. Martinez, MD, FACOG, is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she served as the administrative chief resident during her final year of training. She then did a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an active member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). Dr. Martinez is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Martinez stresses non-surgical and minimally invasive approaches when caring for her patients. She is proud to offer office procedures including diagnostic hysteroscopy, saline infusion sonography, Essure sterilization, colposcopy, and LEEP to minimize the need to go to the Operating Room. Her other interests include contraceptive options, adolescent gynecology and lactation/breastfeeding.

I love Dr. Martinez! She never rushes you, she asks you lots of questions and is great at explaining medical issues. I highly recommend her. The wait time at GW MFA can sometimes be a drag, but that is not the doctor's fault, and she's worth it anyway. Early morning appointments seem to run more on time.

I really liked Dr. Martinez, she has a great bedside manner...answered all of my questions thoroughly and with great detail...my only complaint is the use of all of the online systems from ZocDoc to the patient portal to the sign in kiosk...it seems a bit impersonal...no one in the actual office could help me with signing up and there seems to be a lot of separation between patients and staff...it is very difficult to reach anyone directly

Dr. Martinez was wonderful. Very kind and thorough. However, the wait time was ridiculous--I arrived at 10:45 for an 11:00 appointment, and did not actually see Dr. Martinez until a few minutes after noon. She was apologetic, as was the nurse who took me back to the exam room, which I appreciated. But an hour wait for what ended up being a 15-minute interaction is uncalled for.

I love Dr. Martinez. She takes time to listen and answer questions in a thorough way, and always takes my concerns seriously. If you get an early morning appt there is usually not a wait, I just had to do an afternoon appt this time and so by then it can get backed up.

Dr. Martinez was very calm, helpful, and informative. She listened to me and answered all of my questions. I tend to get very anxious before medical appointments and she listened to me as I voiced these anxieties and concerns. I never felt rushed and she really paid attention to my needs. She also provided great advice with confidence and certainty. She really seems to be present and enjoy her job (some physicians appear to be rushed or going through the motions).
