Meridian Medical was developed by husband and wife, physician assistant duo Darryl Hooker and Morgan Woods in 2016. Darryl Hooker had a background working in pain management and weight loss decided to go onto private practice. Mr. Hooker called the practice Meridian Medical. The name Meridian is familiar in Washington DC such as Meridian Hill Park. The first service offered was pain management with the gracious support of Anesthesiologist, Dr Benjamin Krepps. As we began to see people monthly for pain, we couldn’t ignore their other medical problems which needed equal attention. With the confidence and sponsorship of Dr. Yasmin Ahmed, we were able to move forward with expanding the practice to primary care. Since metabolic syndrome is the largest problem, plaguing our community, we embarked on a mission to reeducate patients and encourage healthy living to minimize pain syndromes, combat obesity and prevent disease.
