Welcome—I’m Ann-Marie Anthony, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner With more than 5 years of mental health experience, I provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to adolescents, adults and older adults in New Jersey and New York.
I specialize in psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, and other mental health concerns. My background includes outpatient and inpatient psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction treatment, and caring for individuals with complex psychiatric and medical needs.
My approach is collaborative and patient-centered. I take time to listen, understand your symptoms and life experiences, and explain treatment options clearly. Medication is never treated as the only solution. Together, we will develop an individualized plan that considers your emotional well-being, physical health, lifestyle, personal preferences, and treatment goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?
Working with me is a collaborative and judgment-free experience. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to create a safe space where you can speak openly, better understand what you are experiencing, and work toward meaningful change.
I take a whole-person approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand how your relationships, experiences, daily stressors, physical health, lifestyle, and environment may be affecting your mental well-being. Depending on your needs, our work may include psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, or a combination of both.
During our sessions, you can expect me to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, provide education, and work with you to develop practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. Treatment is individualized—there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Most importantly, I want you to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about your care. Our goal is to build a treatment plan that supports not only symptom improvement, but also your ability to function, grow, and feel more confident managing your mental health.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My process begins with getting to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms or diagnosis. During our first appointment, we will discuss your current concerns, mental health history, medical history, medications, relationships, lifestyle, stressors, strengths, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.
From there, we will work together to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Treatment may include psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination of both when appropriate. I believe in shared decision-making, so I will explain treatment options, answer your questions, and involve you in decisions about your care.
During follow-up sessions, we will review your progress, discuss any new concerns or challenges, and adjust the treatment plan as needed. When providing psychotherapy, I may incorporate supportive therapy, cognitive and behavioral strategies, psychoeducation, problem-solving, and practical coping skills tailored to your individual needs.
My goal is to provide a supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. Treatment is not about rushing to a diagnosis or prescribing medication—it is about understanding what you are experiencing, identifying what may be contributing to it, and working together toward greater stability, confidence, and overall well-being.
