Dr. Annette Attolini-Fertuck is an attentive psychologist who looks after the locals in and around New York, NY. Dr. Attolini-Fertuck obtained her master's degree in developmental psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University and completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. She has advanced training in perinatal mood disorders from Postpartum Support International. Dr. Attolini-Fertuck holds active memberships in the American Society for Reproductive Medicine's Mental Health Professional Group, Postpartum Support International, and International Society of Transference-Focused Psychotherapy. Dr. Attolini-Fertuck has extensive experience in various psychotherapy modalities, including Transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP) for personality disorders and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She completed advanced training in TFP at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research to deepen her expertise in working with adults with personality disorders. Dr. Attolini-Fertuck incorporates TFP and TFP-informed approaches in her clinical practice to address a range of psychiatric conditions, with a particular emphasis on enhancing mood regulation, self-identity, improving relationship quality, and fostering greater life fulfillment. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Attolini-Fertuck is culturally attuned to patients from various backgrounds. She believes that two-way communication is the key to good health and looks forward to providing them with the tools and exploration needed to improve and maintain their overall health. She believes in fostering a healthy clinician-patient relationship that facilitates assurance and respect.

Through my assessment and therapy services, I provide compassionate, evidence-based support to treat the underlying cause of your stress and help you feel like yourself again.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You’ve already taken the first (often, the hardest!) step by considering therapy. Next, you’ll schedule a consultation, which will take place over one or more sessions. During the consultation, I’ll ask you some questions about what’s been going on and what brought you to work with me. I’ll conduct a thorough assessment, which helps to determine the direction for your personalized treatment. After the consultation, I’ll share what I learned from you and offer customized recommendations for what treatment plan will benefit you most. With your input, I’ll tailor this plan to fit your unique personality and needs. No matter what that plan looks like, you can expect compassionate, evidence-based support to treat the underlying cause of your stress and help you feel like yourself again!
