About Dr. Anthony Janiga
Dr. Janiga was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago and received his Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine. He furthered his education by completing an immunodermatology Research Fellowship at the University of Chicago, followed by his Residency in Dermatology at the University of Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. During his residency, he concurrently completed a Clinical Pharmacology Traineeship sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
Throughout his career, Dr. Janiga has gained experience in all areas of dermatology, including both the medical and surgical aspects of the specialty. He has been actively involved in volunteering within his community and has participated in medical missions in Central America. Additionally, he has taught and mentored physicians and resident physicians over the years.
He has spent most of his approximately 30 years of dermatology experience in solo private practice but is very honored to join Oak Dermatology and their community of expert Board-Certified physicians and providers. He truly embraces the “treat others as you would treat yourself” approach and encourages and promotes his patients to take an active role in their healthcare decisions.
Dr. Janiga is married to his wife, Alina, of 36 years and resides in the western suburbs, where he helped raise their two children, both physicians themselves. Jenna is a board-certified dermatologist, and Michael is a resident anesthesiologist at Northwestern University in Chicago.
In his free time, he thoroughly enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, especially in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and playing the guitar.
