Getting to know Dr. Anthony Lujack
Dr. Anthony Lujack is a focused and compassionate psychiatrist serving New York clients via the Doxy.me Telehealth platform, as well as from his Gramercy office, conveniently located two blocks from Union Square. Dr. Lujack is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, and the American Psychiatric Association. In addition, Dr. Lujack currently serves as a credentialed Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Lujack's psychiatry residency was completed under the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University program at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Lujack serves clients who are seeking psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, or both. In the practice of psychiatry Dr. Lujack draws from his broad experiential base which includes careers in medicine, the law, as well as design. Dr. Lujack is both a psychiatrist, and non-practicing attorney educated at Fordham Law School, and he remains active in the academics of both fields of study. Dr. Lujack was also the principal and director of a fashion design studio for more than fifteen years, and because of his wide area of interests and his diverse career history, Dr. Lujack has an understanding of clients coming from a wide range of life circumstances.
Freud wrote, “Love and work….work and love, that’s all there is”. Recognizing that most of life’s problems revolve around issues with our personal and work relationships, Dr. Lujack’s practice focuses on restoring happiness and contentment in both of these areas. He sees a high number of clients suffering from anxiety, depression, and attention deficit.
What should a new client know about working with you?
If you have required psychiatric hospitalization, have engaged in suicidal or self-harming behavior, have substance use issues, are on medications that require regular blood level monitoring (e.g. lithium or clozapine), or have significant medical issues.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
An initial comprehensive psychiatric consultation is performed, followed by a treatment plan which may include psychopharmacology and/or talk psychotherapy. The psychotherapeutic approach includes psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and relational therapeutic modalities.

I had some apprehension meeting Dr. Lujack because I had never seen a psychiatrist before. He put my mind at ease, and helped me to understand that many people suffer from depression at some point in their life. He discussed options with me which included psychotherapy and medication. I'm not someone who likes to take pills, and he did a great job of explaining the medication options to me, along with the expected benefits, and the possible side effects. I felt reassured that the medication I was starting was safe, and that I would probably only need to take it for a few months.

I'm gay man working in finance, and a friend at work referred to Dr. Lujack two years ago. I was going through a hard time, and my anxiety was preventing me from sleeping. It was affecting my work, and my co-workers were starting to notice. Dr. Lujack helped me understand my anxiety, and though a combination of medication, and meditation, I'm so much better. Dr. Lujack was a great find, and I give his card out to all of my friends. I think it's awesome that in addition to being a doctor, he's also a lawyer, and has worked in the fashion industry in the past. Not many people understand the pressures of working in finance. I think Dr Lujack's experience working in different areas helps him to understand people from a lot of different life situations. Dr. Lujack is open, accepting, supportive, and non-judgmental.

I'm 35 years old, and I came to Dr. Lujack 2 years ago, unhappy in my job, and never having had a relationship that lasted more than a couple of months. I felt hopeless, and like my life was going nowhere. I've been seeing Dr. Lujack weekly, and in that time, I have become engaged,
moved in with my boyfriend, been promoted at work, and have stopped my self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. I owe all of this to Dr. Lujack. He pointed me in the right direction, and helped me to make the changes in my life that I needed to make!

I was really struggling in college when I started seeing Dr. Lujack. I was also having real problems with my personal relationships. I graduated last year, have a terrific job that I love, and recently got engaged. Doctor Lujack got me thinking right. I'm still seeing Dr. Lujack, and with his help I'm able to stay focused on working toward what I want.

I've worked with a lot of psychiatrists, and I think Dr. Lujack is terrific. Most psychiatrists see you for a couple of seconds, ask some pointed questions, write a prescription, and then give you a bill. Every time I see Dr Lujack he takes the time to find out what is going on in my life, and how I'm feeling about how things are going.He's not a clock-watcher like many of the docs

Dr. Lujack is really pretty exceptional. He has really come through for me. I work crazy hours,
and Dr. Lujack has always found time to see me, sometimes in the early morning and sometimes late in the evening. He's easy to reach, and I've never waited more than couple of hours for him to return a call. He is really nice, easy to open up to, and he knows his stuff.

I am a 45 year old man, and I have suffered from depression and anxiety for years. At times the
pressure from work and my marriage have felt overwhelming. I came to Dr. Lujack on a handful
of pills that had me walking around like a zombie. He reduced my meds to just one pill a day,and I've never felt better. I appreciate his "less is more" approach to medication.
