Getting to know Dr. Aparna Dole
Hello there, I am looking forward to working with you. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Mumbai in 2002. I worked briefly with the NHS system in the United Kingdom before moving to the US. I completed my residency in Psychiatry at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn in 2009 and completed my fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in 2010. I have more than 10 years of experience working with clients with depression and anxiety. I am currently an Inpatient Psychiatrist at NYU Langone Brooklyn.
I believe in a person-centered care model, empowering you, providing care that is respectful of, and responsive to, your preferences, needs, and values, and ensuring that your values guide all clinical decisions. I strive to treat you as a whole and focus more on your problems than on your diagnosis while fostering a trusting relationship.

The first time I booked with this office, the provider didn’t show up and when I called the office, they said she was coming. I waited for an hour before logging off.
Then the office told me our rescheduled meeting would be 20 mins, but the provider showed up expecting an hour of my time. When I said I couldn’t stay that long, she offered to have the office contact me to reschedule and they never did. I went and found a new provider

Dr. Dole is an experienced and supportive listener. She listens to all concerns that ive had and helps me with solutions to these concerns. I feel completely comfortable talking to her about sensitive issues. She is the best psychiatrist i have been to.

Dr. Dole's approach makes it easy to discuss difficult symptoms. She is generous with time, scheduling weekly touch points to track my progress on new medications. Our first session was over 1hr and she volunteered to coordinate care with my therapist, which is so rare and deeply appreciated. There's not enough space here to sing her praises!
