Getting to know Aquandalla Davis

***At the moment this therapist is not accepting Medicaid insurance. Please see accepted insurance as well as out-of-pocket fees below.*** Welcome—I’m so glad you found your way here. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping couples build stronger, more connected relationships—at any stage of life. Whether you're feeling stuck in cycles of conflict, drifting apart emotionally, struggling to rebuild trust, or simply want to deepen your connection, you're not alone—and meaningful change is possible. Using a blend of Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help couples break through communication barriers, strengthen emotional bonds, and develop practical tools to navigate challenges together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’ve always believed in the power of transformation—even when it's hard to see. Growing up a dreamer, I learned early on that perseverance, belief, and hard work can shape outcomes in powerful ways. That same belief underpins my therapeutic work. I understand that the concept of family—while often romanticized—is complex and deeply personal. Through therapy, we explore not only how our family of origin has influenced our current relationships but also how we can redefine connection on our own terms. I see each relationship through a unique lens, honoring its challenges while holding space for growth and hope.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In my work, I aim to help individuals and couples reconnect with their inner resilience and reimagine what's possible within their relationships. Whether working through conflict, healing emotional wounds, or reigniting intimacy, I prioritize communication, empathy, and the belief that change is always within reach. My role is to walk alongside clients as they strengthen their emotional bonds, deepen understanding, and create the kind of connection that feels both real and sustainable—for whatever family structure they choose.

It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t overnight—but Aquandalla walked us through the messiest parts of our relationship with so much care and clarity. We’re not just surviving anymore—we’re learning how to love each other again.
Intimacy had disappeared from our relationship and neither of us knew how to talk about it without blame or shame. Aquandalla created a safe space to finally open up. It wasn’t easy, but we’ve started rebuilding trust and connection in that part of our relationship.
Literally my husband and I could barely get through a conversation without it turning into an argument. Aquandalla helped us slow down, understand each other’s triggers, and finally start listening again. We're communicating—not just reacting. She's been a lifeline.
We both left our first session surprised by how heard we felt. Aquandalla didn’t force anything, but somehow got us talking in a way we hadn’t in years. We knew immediately she was the right fit.
What I appreciated most is how fair Aquandalla was. Neither of us ever felt blamed—just supported and challenged in the right ways. She’s an amazing therapist.
We were nervous going into our first session, unsure if therapy would even help. Within minutes, Aquandalla made us feel seen and safe. She asked the right questions and gave us hope. We left feeling lighter than we had in months
I cried in our second session—not out of sadness, but because I finally felt like someone understood us. Aquandalla has a way of cutting through the noise and helping you see what really matters. We’re healing, one step at a time.
Leaving out of our first session with Aquandalla, we looked at each other and said, ‘Why didn’t we do this sooner?’ It was the first time in a long time we felt like we might actually be okay.
We hadn’t been physically close in over a year. It felt like there was a wall between us. Aquandalla didn’t rush us or make it awkward—she helped us explore what was really going on underneath. We’re still finding our way back to each other, but we are interested in understanding.
When we came to Aquandalla, we were fighting constantly and barely speaking in between. She never takes sides, but she also don’t let us avoid the hard truths. Her calm presence gave us room to break out of the cycle we were stuck in.
I was so nervous about therapy, my boyfriend didn't really want to do therapy at first I thought he would not really give it his all but Aquandalla made it so approachable. She has a gentle strength and a real talent for helping people grow together
