About Dr. Arin Kim
Arin E. Kim, MD is an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Einstein.
Dr. Kim treats problems of the hand, wrist, and elbow in patients of all ages. Common conditions she treats are peripheral neuropathy, arthritis, fractures, and tendon and ligament injuries of the upper extremity. Her specialized clinical interests are in peripheral nerve and brachial plexus injury and congenital hand conditions.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and Economics from Yale University, Dr. Kim attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning her Doctor of Medicine. She completed her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at University of California San Francisco. She further pursued fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York before joining the faculty at Montefiore Einstein.
Dr. Kim’s research focuses on pathology of the upper extremity and she has given numerous presentations at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Litterary RUSHED me out. I was waters 3 weeks for an appointment. And when I was finally there she didn’t even let me finish my questions about a broken hand.
She saw me for a minute and half max…. And had an attitude when I was asking her questions as she was leaving the room. I do NOT RECCOMEND.. she didn’t even explain to me how to take future precautions…

Dr. Kim was very rude to me. She didn’t seem to want to talk about my options for my hand and when asked about the surgery she was suggesting and what it would entail, she simply said “I’d cut it” with an annoyed expression. No further explanation. She made me feel silly for asking questions and kept asking me what I wanted to do, but I felt pressured and illequipt to make the decision without all the information. I eventually opted for the steroid injection and received it with tears in my eyes due to frustration and a feeling of defeat. And when I reacted to the large lump it left on my wrist and commented how that didn’t happen the first time, her response was “I just injected you with 2mls of liquid, what do you expect?”
She left and I started sobbing and am still not sure if I made the right decision in getting the shot. Never returning to this doctor.

when i was there 1st of all the lady on the receptionist,she was well awar of my appointment after that i was filling the form and the lady from the nursing staff she came and took me into the room for paper which they want to be done and after few seconds doctor Arim Kim was there for me she just listened to me very carefully and they ask me to further discuss with the pannel for proper diagnosis in the next appointment. appreciated overall

It was a great visit. My only issue was at the front desk. My appointment was scheduled for 8:00am, and was told my insurance was not working and was told I need to call them. As a front desk If you are having issues with the system where you cannot verify the insurance via the PC, then they should be able to pick up the phone and call the insurance. I had to call the insurance myself so that the front desk can hear that my insurance has been active since 2020. Due to this, it caused for me to be seen at 9:45am. Front desk should have more empathy in patient care
