Dr. Sakellaridis is an internist/primary care physician treating all aspects of medicine. Dr. Sakellaridis is a solo practitioner which means that you will always be seen by him when you go to his office and not a physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner. He is also a licensed Suboxone prescribing physician. He has offices in Bayside and Hicksville with friendly office staff, same or next day appointments, minimal to no waiting room time. Emergencies are seen right away. He has admitting privileges at North Shore University hospital in Manhasset, Long Island Jewish hospital and New York Presbyterian hospital of Queens. He did his internship and residency training at New York Presbyterian hospital. Dr. Sakellaridis received his undergraduate degree from New York University and his medical degree from Northeast University medical school in Mexico. Most testing is done in-office and includes blood testing, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function testing, holtor monitor and echo-cardiograms. Dr. Sakellaridis has also volunteered through Stony Brook hospital and worked in medical clinics in Peru treating the poor for free.

I love Dr. Sak! He is kind, transparent, hilarious (I love hearing the jokes and banter between him and the staff while I’m waiting for him to come in the room- it’s my favorite part of the appointment). He listens to my concerns, the wait is never long, sometimes I get there early because I work far away and try to pad my time for traffic but then get there faster than anticipated, and they are so accommodating!

Doctor was culturally insensitive by asking where I was from, and when I responded with my hometown, he followed by asking where my parents are from (I am Asian).
Doctor also diagnosed me with diabetes without informing me of what type, or how high my blood sugar levels were. He advised me to “exercise and lose 10 lbs” even though I am a fit young adult at 130 lbs.

I love coming to see Dr. Sak. He is super friendly, always cracking jokes, his staff cracks them back at him which tells me they enjoy working with him. He listens to my nonsense, gives me great advice that I trust, is to the point, and the whole office is friendly and efficient.

I left the doctors appointment and I was not happy. I will not be returning. Ever. Again. My co-pay was taken graciously, but my concerns in the exam room were quickly dismissed all within 5 minutes of arriving at the office. I think there is a reason why I stopped visiting doctors. My concerns were quickly redirected back at me with "Well I don't know. It could be because of drinking in the morning. I don't know. You will have to look into this" (Yes, the doctor told me that).

Dr Sak is my PCP, and has been for over 10 years. I trust him, and that is about the best thing I can say about any doctor. His staff is competent and friendly and I never have much of a wait to be seen. I recommend Dr Sak enthusiastically.

This Dr is the first and only to actually DISCUSS all those “anyone in your family have x y or z” questions, and talk about hereditary diseases. He also is the first after MANY doctors to help with an issue that every other doctor threw Xanax at me for and chalked up to anxiety. So happy I found him!!!
