About Dr. Arjun Sood
With a career spanning several decades, Dr. Arjun Sood is a highly experienced hematologist and oncologist. As a part of AVAM Cancer & Blood Specialists, LLC in Alexandria, VA, he sees patients for a variety of medical concerns. These include blood disorders, like thrombosis and anemia, as well as cancers like Hodgkin’s disease, multiple myeloma, melanoma, and other skin cancers.
Dr. Sood began his career in healthcare by receiving his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, where he was chief resident. Dr. Sood continued his training by completing a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Sood was incredible! One of the best, if not the best, doctor I’ve ever encountered. So many doctors rush you and don’t listen these days. This was not the case with Dr. Sood. He showed so much patience and care. He explained everything and even showed you what he was doing and/or looking at. I’ve never felt so comfortable. He was thorough and detailed. He named as many possibilities of my symptoms as he could, and ordered a thorough amount of test to try and discover the cause of my issue. Thank you, Dr. Sood!! This visit meant so much to me. Especially because I was so nervous. Please never ever lose that special touch! Highly recommend. He even has a secure app he invites you to, so that he can communicate with you. And the office is super clean. The receptionist was very kind and friendly also. An outstanding visit! Really enjoyed myself; if a visit to the doctor can be enjoyed.

From the moment Dr. Sood entered my room I felt at ease. He always greeted me with kindness & compassion while remaining professional. Dr. Sood is by far the most comprehensive and detailed oriented doctor I have worked with. He has gone above and beyond in thinking through my diagnosis and treatment. From day one, he has taken a proactive approach in addressing my medical issues. His ability to connect the dots (where others could not) has lead to a successful diagnosis of a rare disorder I have been battling with for the past 7 years. I would recommend Dr. Soon to all of my friends and family. I wish all doctors could be as caring and thorough. Thank you Dr. Sood for dramatically improving the quality of life.

Dr. Sood is a brilliant doctor who is providing me with exceptional cancer care. He is well-versed in the latest clinical research and trials and collaborates with other cancer experts to identify and provide the best possible care options. Dr. Sood is also very familiar with the potentially dangerous side effects of chemotherapy , medication, and takes great care to ensure that I am not being harmed during the course of treatment.

I have been seeing Dr. Sood for 4 1/2 years. I had small cell esophahus cancer and, with the help from Dr. Sood and his team, I have had a good outcome. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Sood, very thorough and professional.

Dr. Sood has saved my life. I was very sick, when I first met him. He found that I had multi myaloma back in 2014. Now thanks to Dr Sood I am in remission. I love this guy. He is a very caring Dr. takes the best care of his patients.
