Asma J. Sadiq, MD is the founder of Developmental Pediatrics Health and Wellness PC in New York City. She has been board certified in General Pediatrics, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and Neuro-Developmental Pediatrics. Having worked for over 19 years as Director of Child Development at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, she has extensive experience in providing care for children with special needs and supporting their families. Dr. Sadiq has taught medical students and residents from Columbia University and Albert Einstein School of Medicine, and was Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai. She was involved in training pediatric residents in Developmental Pediatrics at Beth Israel Medical Center and was awarded a special grant by the United Hospital Fund for Project DOCS to have parents as teachers for residents so as to better understand the needs of children with chronic disabilities. Dr. Sadiq has co-authored a parenting curriculum guide as part of the Parent and Child Enrichment Project, a five-year project at Columbia University and the Department of Health, which studied the benefits of providing at-risk mothers with an onsite rehabilitation program combined with medical and pediatric services. She has published in the Pediatric and Psychiatric Annuls on Integrative Approaches and ADHD Dr. Sadiq is passionate about evidence based, integrative approaches in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. She has been Faculty Development Fellow in the Integrative Medicine Program at the Continuum Center for Health and Healing, and completed a fellowship in the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona. Dr Sadiq has both organized and participated in international conferences on child development as well as Integrative Medicine.
