Dietitian
MI
Food-lover, body-positive dietitian, and former chronic dieter at your service! For as long as I can remember, I've always felt self-conscious about my size. My weight has always fluctuated, and I spent my life hearing comments about my size. I never felt like I lived in a body that was ?just right.? That led to years of chronic yo-yo dieting. I read books, looked online, consulted friends, and was always eager to hop on the next new diet trend. But then, I decided to go to school to become a registered dietitian. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's in Community Nutrition from West Chester University. My years of nutrition ?research? before college fueled my passion to learn more. And guess what I learned? There is no perfect diet, quick fix, or one-size-fits-all approach. I learned that nutrition is impacted by our whole life's circumstances-access, support, movement, culture, values, stress, sleep-all play a role. Even better yet, there is no ?perfect? size to exist in. The perfect size is the size you're in when you feel like your best, most nourished self. Food freedom allows you to feel that way. It helps you let go of years of drinking water to ?feel full? and making low-calorie treats, teaching you how to truly respect and honor your body's needs. Don't get me wrong-my food freedom journey is an everyday practice. But I can say with full confidence, it's a practice that is so worth it.
