Dr. Audra Glunt, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
I help adults (ages 17-63) experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and food addiction decrease their negative, worrisome thoughts and increase their ability to make choices based on their values and life goals so they can live life to their maximum level of wellness. I do this by partnering with my patients to create a holistic wellness plan that incorporates supplements and dietary recommendations (specifically keto/carnivore), mindfulness activities, lifestyle modifications, mental health medication management (including de-prescribing), and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). I also specialize in supporting parents with parenting-related trauma (adoptions, divorce) and/or parenting children with neurodevelopmental disorders to improve their coping skills, self-care, and overall outlook. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Robert Morris University, which informs my comprehensive and patient-centered approach to care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

"I’m Audra Glunt, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and my approach is warm, personal, and holistic—rooted in my own journey through life’s challenges, like anxiety, depression, and health struggles. With over 12 years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I blend traditional medication management with nutrition (keto/carnivore diets), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help adults in Florida via telehealth. My style is high-touch and collaborative—I listen deeply, meet you where you are, and co-create a wellness plan that fits your unique needs. Expect a safe, non-judgmental space where we’ll explore your goals, whether it’s easing worry, lifting sadness, or finding balance. I draw on tools like polyvagal theory, lifestyle tweaks, and supplements, shaped by my experiences as a mom, adopter, and healer. Visits are a mix of talk therapy, practical strategies, and tailored solutions—think of me as your partner in climbing your mountain to maximum wellness."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Food For Thought, I’m here to guide you toward lasting wellness with a holistic, integrative approach. I support you with compassionate, talk-based therapy, ensuring you feel heard and understood. I teach you neuroscience-based practices to calm your mind and body, enhancing awareness with brain- and body-training techniques. I also help you make value-driven choices and reach goals through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For medications and supplements, I find the right balance—evaluating and adjusting psychiatric meds and/or targeted, medical-grade supplements. Through nutrition support, I can help you improve your mental health, cognition, and clarity by adjusting you diet. We can make small goals like reducing “junk food intake” or tackle big dreams like implementing ketogenic or carnivore eating plans. I assist you in understanding medication responses with pharmacogenetic testing—a simple cheek swab for precision care. Using rating scales, I track your progress and refine your plan with objective insights. And for additional support, I recommend smartphone apps to further your peace and calm. Together, we’ll craft a path that works for you.
