About Dr. Aurel Apple
Dr. Aurel Apple is a native New Yorker, born and raised on Long Island. She graduated with honors from Stony Brook University, majoring in U.S. History and minoring in Biology and Studio Art. She then completed medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM) on Long Island.
Dr. Apple went on to complete her internship in medicine at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, followed by her dermatology residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she gained comprehensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of skin conditions, performing cosmetic and surgical procedures, and caring for patients across all skin types, including those with conditions more common in skin of color.
Today, Dr. Apple is a board certified dermatologist practicing medical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology, and serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She treats a wide range of conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, hair loss, hyperpigmentation, hyperhidrosis, nail disorders, skin cancers, and more. She is also trained in cosmetic procedures to enhance natural features with subtle, natural-looking results.

I had such a great experience with Dr. Apple. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and truly took the time to listen to all of my questions. I never once felt rushed or made to feel dumb for asking anything. She was very responsive and made sure to explain my options clearly, while genuinely respecting what I was comfortable with. It felt like a very collaborative and caring visit. I highly recommend them and will definitely be returning to her!

Doctor Apple was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes doctors can talk to you in medical terms and you get lost.. this was not that. She was super thorough and explained everything to me like she was a friend and answer all the questions I had. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know.

Dr. Apple only cares about getting you the care and medication you need. I have a ton of skin problems including but not limited to severe eczema breakouts, styes, etc. When it comes to skin problems, I’ve only ever trusted her and my skin issues are always resolved quickly!

Dr. Aurel Apple and her physician's assistant were excellent; very knowledgeable; clear communicator with great suggestions. The front desk check-in staff was welcoming and helpful in the check in; and the online appointment process was simple and it works.
If you are looking for a friendly; welcoming; knowledgeable and no bs dermotologist team from the front desk to the doctor herself, this is an excellent choice. This was my first visit and will definitely come back if available.
