As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I bring more than 12 years of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and easy to understand. Patients often appreciate that I’m direct, approachable, and focused on meaningful improvement. We’ll work together to create a treatment plan that makes sense to you, fits your needs, and feels realistic to maintain.
What should a new client know about working with you?
During your first appointment, we’ll take time to understand what you’re experiencing, what treatments you’ve tried in the past, and what you hope to improve.
We’ll talk through your treatment options together, which may include medication as well as non-medication approaches when appropriate. You’ll leave the visit with a clear plan for what comes next and when we’ll follow up.
I strive to keep appointments on time, respect your schedule, and make sure you know how to reach me if your treatment isn’t working as expected or you have concerns between visits.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
1. Thorough initial evaluation: We’ll discuss your current concerns, relevant history, past treatment experiences, and goals so I can get a complete understanding of your needs.
2. Personalized treatment plan: I’ll walk you through my recommendations in straightforward language, and we’ll decide together on an approach that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
3. Continued follow-up: At future visits, we’ll review what’s improving, address any side effects or concerns, and make adjustments when needed to help you reach lasting stability.

Very satisfied. I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I always have a ton of questions and he answered every single one clearly and gave me a lot of space to ask as many questions as I needed to in order to feel comfortable. He also asked a lot of clarifying questions about other aspects of my life, and I appreciate that he wanted to see the bigger picture to best understand me. It’s hard to find that level of attention to detail in healthcare settings these days. I walked away with a much better understanding of my conditions and what choices I have to treat them, definitely recommend.

In my mid-forties, I was suffering from some issues that I had a hard time understanding. I noticed that my attention to detail and my ability to focus were slipping and my thoughts were overwhelming. Austin helped me understand that things I always considered "normal" were actually masking and coping skills arising from my long-undiagnosed ADHD. Now, thanks to his help, I finally have a diagnosis, medication, but most importantly, I have an understanding of what is going on with my brain, and the knowledge and tools to live a better life. I hope Austin can help you like he helped me.
