What is your typical process for working with clients?
New patient appointments are typically booked for an hour. During this time, you will be asked many questions that help identify important information about what treatment is most likely to work best for you. What is not going on is sometimes just as important as what is going on. The last 15-20 minutes of the appointment will be spent discussing what things are identified, what treatments can help, and the pros and cons of each of those treatments. Treatments often include lifestyle modifications, psychotherapy, and medication management. A psychiatrist's primary job is an educator, to help patients understand their options, not to blindly force them into the one option they think is best.

I received an email saying they needed to speak with me and would contact me, or I could contact them. If they were unable to reach me, they would cancel my appointment. I tried to call, but someone answered, and then silence and no one attempted to contact me, so my appointment was canceled.
