About Austin Slayter
Austin Slayter has been in practice since 2012. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Findlay and completed both his Bachelor's and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Butler University. Mr. Slayter is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He practiced emergency medicine for several years before transitioning to primary care. He has a special interest in preventive care, acute and chronic conditions, and improving patient health. He chose to practice primary care because he enjoys developing relationships with patients of all ages. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking, and cooking.

Went to Austin Slayter with what I thought was a fingernail bacterial infection that I had researched on medical websites. His first conclusion was a fungus, but then he looked on the internet at what I believed was my condition. He admitted he'd never heard of it but was familiar with the bacteria that could cause it. I appreciate that he took the time to listen and do his homework before making a quick diagnosis.

I just moved to Indiana 3 months ago, and finding a new doctor is always daunting. But my visit to this office and physician was wonderful. The front office staff was pleasant and helpful. I was seen right on time, before I could even finish my new patient paperwork (unheard of!). The nurse was friendly and quick while gathering the information and vitals she needed from me. Austin is such a great medical professional and made me feel at ease right away. He took interest in me as a person, asking where I was from and what I do. He was thorough in his examination and knowledgeable about my ailment. He also informed me that although they are primary care, they can also take care of my OB-GYN needs. I will absolutely be making this my primary care office!

I have been to the doctor maybe 4 times in the last 8 years, mostly due to the hassle of actually scheduling the appointment and due to me moving and not wanting to put in the time to find a new PCP.
from start to finish this "process" was simple and smooth. my wife found the doctor through Zocdoc and scheduled the appointment. I uploaded my insurance card info easily after appointment was scheduled. the visit itself was pleasant. I waited a whole 5 minutes before being called in the waiting room. The initial nurse took vitals and asked screening questions and just a couple minutes after she left Austin came in to see me. I actually spent so little time waiting I had to complete the paperwork after the visit!.
Austin was friendly and informative. I came to see him about an issue i had been having for about 5 years. Diagnosis was easy and he clearly explained the prognosis and next steps. While my goal was to be seen for a specific issue, it is very likely my wife and I will use this office for our primary care moving forward.

Austin has the best bedside manner of any PA or Doc I’ve seen. He remembers things well from previous visits, and makes building a trusting relationship easy and comfortable. He listens with concern and explains things very well- he’s very knowledgeable. I also had to have a Pap smear done and I’ve been uncomfortable before during this, but he was so good and took the time to make sure I was comfortable. I had no pain! And I did not have any pain with the blood draws either, very good staff all around. I am happy to find a good provider to see that I trust. Would recommend anyone of any age.
