My path to midwifery was deeply personal. The care I received from a midwife during my own pregnancy, labor and birth experience moved me so profoundly that I felt called to pursue a career in labor and birth, so I could offer that same quality of care to other women. For many women, addressing gynecologic concerns or navigating pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period can be among the most vulnerable times in their lives. My goal is to be a safe, trusted person they can turn to for empathetic, holistic and evidence-based support. My approach to healthcare is rooted in treating the whole person, not simply the symptoms. Rather than defaulting to a single method of treatment, I aim to offer a blend of pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and natural options based on each person's individual goals and desires. That kind of personalized, collaborative care is what we do at Novant Health. I am recognized through Novant Health as an LGBTQ+ affirming clinician and am Perinatal Mental Health Certified, a credential that reflects my commitment to supporting the full emotional and psychological well-being of my patients alongside their physical health.
