About Dr. Avi Retter
Dr. Retter is a consulting physician at the Eastchester Center for Cancer Care, a division of New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. He is an accomplished oncologist and hematologist with numerous publications, his most recent regarding his work with prostate cancer and antiangiogenesis. Dr. Retter brings his clinical research expertise to expand Eastchester Center for Cancer Care, a division of New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, and use that expertise to expand the clinical research infrastructure. Dr. Retter earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1999 and performed his residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and completed a combined Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.

Amazing experience from beginning to end. Young ladies in the first amazing service very polite, generous just amazing. I have a complex cardiac and hematologic medical history. Dr. Retter was an active listener, managed our time well while making me feel heard and respected. He reached out to my referring care team while I was at his office to ensure everyone involved was on the same page on how to move forward with my medical care in a way that mitigate risks moving forward. I would highly recommend him. I was seen on time and was at the office 1 hour and 50 minutes were spent with the provider.

The entire experience was smooth and everyone was thorough, helpful and very kind. Dr. Retter himself identified what was wrong and gave great feedback on what paths could be taken to solve the issue. I also asked for an office closer to my home and he went out of his way to set that up for me. Really appreciate that! I highly recommend him and the office.

Absolutely the best Dr. He got me an appt the same day for an ultrasound. I thought that I had blood clots in both legs. Within 3 house, I saw him and the technician and had results. Very pleased with everything. Would most definitely recommend him to anyone. No bloodclots just leg cramps and dehydration

Dr. Retter is a careful, thoughtful and considerate doctor. I found him to be a good listener and responsive to my questions. When he realized he was dealing with a highly educated Doctor's son who had taken pre-Med bio, he spoke to me on my level. He understood that I was personally familiar with most of the standard blood panel measurements and even some of the deeper dive tests because I had already been subject to 4 days of detailed in hospital testing with 6 prior blood panels, 2 urine tests, an MRI, an Echocardiogram, a TEE, and a team of five MDs explaining why all of this was necessary. He did not mind that I asked some very detailed questions about specific blood measurements and explained the possibilities of the tests he was doing to try and pin down my as yet unidentified illness. In the end we were able to eliminate leukemia and lymphoma which was a great relief.

My grandma was undergoing chemo treatment and was seen by Dr. Avi Retter. She was nervous and scared but she was reassured by Dr. Retter and his skills and his personality. She and I both hope that other patients out there are referred to Dr. Avi Retter.
Dr. Retter explained everything in detail, and now she can follow her plan accordingly.

I recently started undergoing cancer treatment and was seen by Dr. Avi Retter and I could not have been happier with my experience. He and his entire staff are wonderful. I have never underwent chemo treatment before but I had the utmost confidence in Dr. Retter after he explained my treatment very thoroughly. He has given me hope for the future ahead. I highly recommend him and wish nothing but success for him and his team.

Unless you have the condition, no one can truly understand the complexity of what I have to endure. Thankfully, Dr. Retter is someone who is truly compassionate and dedicated to his work. I wouldn’t want anyone else besides him observing me.
