I've had ones who rush to prescribe meds with zero context and others who require me to educate them about aspects of my identity it seems they should know something about. I found Dr. Gorig to be pleasant and attentive, taking my cues about what I needed from her quickly and easily. I have a rare chronic illness that she clearly did research on from our first appointment to the next, and she clearly has an excellent grasp of the medical side of things which is helpful for me. While all of our sessions have been on Zoom, I have found them to be welcoming and she is flexible and very efficient when it comes to refilling meds/answering questions, etc.”

I am a psychiatrist working in Adult Psychiatry with over 18 years of work experience in New York City. I provide psychopharmacological treatment and psychotherapy along with lifestyle modification to optimize patients' functioning and mental well being.
I am interested in holistic health and use my knowledge of health and healing to work compassionately and collaboratively with my patients.
I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and ADHD.
I obtained my medical degree at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and completed a residency in psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center. Thereafter, I completed a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Cabrini Medical Center.

I work in psychiatric environment, and have had many encounters with psychiatrists, therapists, NPs and the likes. But rarely, and I meanVERY rarely do I run into a psychiatrist I thoroughly trust and genuinely like.
Dr. Gorig explains her positions on medications and diagnosis clearly, with supreme care and compassion. She is also considerate of one’s financial disposition. She integrates her deep psychiatric, psychological, and nutritional understanding into her practice.
I feel very lucky to have found her. She definitely provides a safe space, but with clear and professional (yet also very loving) assistance to one’s psychiatric needs!
Can’t recommend her any more enthusiastically!!!

I highly recommend. I have been seeing Dr. Gorig for a few years and even followed her to her new location for services. She is very understanding and committed to quality psychiatric care on a multi faceted level. My favorite thing about being in her care is that you don’t feel like she forces ideas or treatment regimes down your throat. She really tries to have an open dialogue about what it is you expect and want out of your treatment.
