Dr. Ayodeji E Okorafor is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Capilona Psychiatry. He earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Maryville University and graduated with honors from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts in 2018. He also holds a Bachelor's degree from Chamberlain University. Bringing over 12 years of experience in mental health care, Dr. Okorafor and his team provide comprehensive services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, substance abuse assessments with referrals, crisis intervention, and treatment and support for conditions such as grief, substance abuse, stress, anger, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and schizophrenia. Their patient-centered approach ensures that individual needs are prioritized.

Our Mission is to empower and inspire our patients. Knowing how common it is for people of all ages to experience a decline in mental health, we bring a platform to get support without any judgments. In Capilona Wellness Services, we hope for the possibility of recovery from mental illness.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Dr. Ayodeji's therapy style is compassionate and trusting. He gives clients the space to talk about their mental health symptoms and goals. He generally asks each of his clients to describe their current situation and talk about what barriers exist to achieving the life that they want. He’ll ask about lifestyle, physical health, habits and routines, and emotions. From this information, He determines a client’s diagnosis and may offer psychopharmacologic intervention.

Absolutely awful experience! The provider did not show up to my visit nor was the link provided. I tried contacting their office multiple times but no one answered. Very disappointing experience and most definitely do not recommend.

He refused to prescribe any medications until I met with him a second time. I wound up running out of a really important medication because he failed to call it in and I had to rely on my previous provider and pay out of pocket for a very expensive medication since they are out of state. Proceed with caution as his bedside manner left a lot to be desired.

This doctor failed to send the ADHD prescription (that I’ve been taking for years) to the pharmacy, in spite of my making it very clear I absolutely needed him to do so before I left for a trip. Now I’m without my meds, which is fine, but I would’ve much rather he had just been straight up.

Staff is professionally friendly. I was worried to switch my pcp when I moved here. I’m so lucky to find Doctor Ayodeji, really patient, very caring. I decided to post this review from my last visit. I felt genuinely heard and very much understood by a physician for the first time in my entire life.
