About Dr. Bahar Moghaddam
Bahar Moghaddam, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist with a special interest in the management of Spondyloarthritis, especially in the care of patients with complex inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Moghaddam obtained her BASc in Chemical Engineering and MSc in stem cell biology, as well as her medical degree, from the University of Toronto. She accomplished her internal medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. Subsequently, she returned to the University of Toronto for her fellowship in rheumatology, where she distinguished herself as Chief Resident. Throughout her training, Dr. Moghaddam conducted research focusing on lupus-related mortality, neuropsychiatric lupus and spondyloarthritis.
Her other clinical interests include the management of rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and vasculitis, particularly in women and young adults.
Dr. Moghaddam speaks English and Farsi.

I’ve been dealing with chronic pain and nerve issues for over ten years. In the past year, I began searching for real answers, which led to being referred from one specialist to another without a clear diagnosis. By the time I was referred to Dr. Bahar, she was my fifth specialist, and my expectations were low.
I was wrong.
Dr. Bahar truly listened to my pain and symptoms and reviewed my previous MRIs from multiple hospitals without rushing. For the first time, a doctor connected the dots and explained a possible underlying cause.
Even if the upcoming tests come back normal, she is the first physician who ordered them with a diagnosis in mind. Others ran tests first and hoped answers would follow. That difference meant everything.
I genuinely recommend Dr. Bahar and her office. I finally feel heard, taken seriously, and hopeful, and I look forward to continuing the search for answers.

Dr. Bahar Moghaddam was amazing. She was a great listener, asked follow up questions and was very attentive. However prior to seeing the doctor, I was treated very poorly by the nurse, Jacqueline. She had a very bad attitude, cut me off when I was speaking but got upset when I wasn’t answering her questions fast enough and got upset when I told her I wasn’t referred by a PCP and that I came on my own. It left me very shaken up before the doctor came to see me. I considered leaving but I had waited two months for this appointment. I’m happy I stayed only because the doctor was amazing as well as the person who drew my blood after the appointment.

Dr. Moghaddam was very knowledgeable, attentive, and well-spoken. She took the time to thoroughly review my most recent and previous MRIs from Lennox Hill Radiology, as well as my blood work from my primary care practitioner. In addition to being pleasant and professional, she was also professionally dressed and presentable. I most enjoyed being listened to and not rushed during my appointment. Finally, she had to drain fluid from my knee and give me a cortisone shot. Although I was a big "wuss," she explained everything step by step, and I survived.

Dr. Bahar was amazing. Her demeanor was very professional, and she actively listened throughout my appointment and provided thoughtful, collaborative feedback in the moment. She was extremely knowledgeable and supportive of my concerns and opinions and provided helpful information with print outs for me to take home. I felt like a contributor in my care planning. 10/10 Highly recommend.

Dr. Bahar is incredibly knowledgeable and shares that knowledge with you! She’s an awesome and active listener, and she wants to understand your troubles and your needs! I also appreciated that her team and she were diligent about scheduling a follow up, and not only that, were flexible on if you wanted to come in person or do a virtual appointment.
The receptionist I worked with was also very knowledgeable and resourceful, and she was very kind. I’d also like to give a shout out to another receptionist who reached out to see if I could make an earlier appointment last month. I find that customer service aspect rarely, and although I couldn’t do the earlier appointment, it was definitely helpful to know they’re looking out to potentially see me sooner than my scheduled appointment!
My only complaint was that the nurse who took my vitals was very short with me and would not clarify questions when asked the first time. They began to warm up gradually, so overall, I enjoyed my visit!

Took my fiancé here to be seen. One of the best doctors I’ve ever witnessed. Took time to listen. Answered all questions thoroughly. Exceptional. I work in the field. I was impressed with her bedside manner. I wouldn’t go to another rheumatologist if you need one. I’m completely sold.

Took the time to provide recommendations for OTC solutions and referred to a specific Ophthalmologist for additional care. Wow. This was my first appointment and there’s not enough words on how I can describe my wonderful experience with Dr. Moghaddam! She was exceptional and truly one of kind. This is the first time we’re I’ve experienced a doctor who actually cared for my concerns, especially coming from me (a major hypochondriac). She didn’t dismissed any of my worries or questions.
