Barry E. Thompson is a board-certified physician assistant (PA) with licenses in the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is a graduate of Howard University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in the Physician Assistant Program.
Prior to joining ROSM, Barry honed his skills as a PA in various orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, and occupational medicine facilities throughout Maryland. He has practiced in the musculoskeletal field for more than 20 years, primarily working in orthopedic surgery for most of his career. He is skilled in performing joint injections and aspirations and enjoys explaining the clinical course and imaging in conversations with patients. He excels in establishing a patient-practitioner relationship and building ongoing trust. Barry strives to continuously educate his patients to help them fully understand all aspects of their health.
A passionate football enthusiast, Barry was born and raised in Pittsburgh and is a diehard Steelers fan. He enjoys weight training, yoga, reading American history, and doing Washington Post puzzles on Sunday afternoons at home with his family.

Excellent Care and Clear Communication.
I'm so grateful I found Dr. Barry Thompson, PA-C .After spraining my ankle, I was worried about my recovery and whether I'd be able to run again. Dr. Barry Thompson, PA-C took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and provided a clear diagnosis that put my mind at ease.
