About Dr. Bartley Gill
B.J. Gill, M.D., Ph.D. graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California where he attended on a prestigious Trustee Scholarship. He then entered a highly competitive dual-degree Medical Scientist Training Program, receiving his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Rice University. For his Ph.D. thesis he developed a hydrogel biomaterial scaffold to study a cancer metastasis model.
Following completion of internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Gill continued at Baylor for residency in the Department of Dermatology where he was honored with the selection as Chief Resident. Dr. Gill has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed Bioengineering and Dermatology journals.
Dr. Gill has presented work over a dozen times at scientific and clinical meetings including recent presentations to the Texas Dermatological Society and Houston Dermatological Society. He has also enjoyed mentoring students throughout his career and has led teaching conferences on a variety of dermatology topics for residents and trainees across different medical specialties.
Dr. Gill’s clinical philosophy is to leverage a scientific knowledge base with a friendly and approachable communication style to the ultimate service of patient care. His clinical interests include skin cancer, psoriasis, infectious dermatology, autoimmune blistering disorders and cosmetic dermatology. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Texas Dermatological Society, Houston Dermatological Society and Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Gill was born in Guam and grew up in Hawaii and Dallas, but is now happy to call Houston home. In his spare time he enjoys fancy food, craft cocktails, overly complicated board games and cats.
