Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
106 Apple St, Ste 106, Tinton Falls, NJ
As a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with Oasis Mental Health Centers, I specialize in advanced, evidence-based treatments for depression — including patients who have not responded to traditional medications or therapy. At Oasis, my focus is on two interventional treatments that have changed what's possible for patients with treatment-resistant depression: Spravato (esketamine) — an FDA-approved nasal spray treatment administered in our certified REMS clinics for adults with treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) — a non-invasive, drug-free, FDA-cleared treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Both treatments are covered by most major insurance plans and are designed for patients who have tried antidepressants without finding adequate relief. My approach is straightforward: I take the time to understand your full treatment history, what's worked, what hasn't, and what's gotten in the way. Many of the patients I see have been struggling for years and have been told there are no options left. There usually are — and my job is to help you find the right one. I believe patients deserve clear information, honest expectations, and a provider who treats depression as the serious medical condition it is. Whether you're exploring Spravato, TMS, or medication management as part of a broader plan, I'll work with you to build a treatment path grounded in evidence and tailored to your situation. If you've been searching for something beyond standard antidepressants, I'd welcome the opportunity to talk with you about whether one of these treatments might be the right fit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you come in to see me, the first visit is about understanding your story — not running you through a checklist. I want to know what depression has looked like for you, what you've already tried, what helped a little, what didn't help at all, and what's been getting in the way of feeling better. Most of the patients I work with at Oasis have been dealing with depression for a long time. Many have tried multiple antidepressants without finding lasting relief. Some have been told there's nothing else to try. That's almost never true — and the first thing I want you to know is that you're not out of options. My style is direct and practical. I'll explain things in plain language, walk you through how Spravato and TMS actually work, and be honest about what each treatment can and can't do. I won't oversell results, and I won't rush you into a decision. If a treatment isn't the right fit, I'll tell you that too. I take time during appointments. I ask questions, and I expect you to ask them back — about side effects, what to expect during treatment, how long it takes to see results, what insurance covers, and anything else on your mind. There are no bad questions, and "I don't know yet" is a fair answer from both of us. I work closely with the rest of the Oasis clinical team — the technicians who administer your treatments, the coordinators who manage your insurance and scheduling, and your other providers if you have a therapist or primary psychiatrist already. You don't need to leave your current providers to be treated here. We work alongside them. What you can expect from me: clear communication, follow-through, and a provider who takes your care seriously. What I'll ask from you: honesty about how you're feeling, even when it's hard, so we can adjust the plan when something isn't working.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, usually 60 minutes. I'll review your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, past medications and treatments you've tried, family history, and any other factors that affect your care — sleep, substance use, medical conditions, life stressors. I'll also ask about your goals: what would feeling better actually look like for you? By the end of that first visit, my goal is to give you a clear picture of where things stand — what I think is going on, what treatment options make sense, and what the next steps look like. If Spravato or TMS is a good fit, I'll explain how each one works, what the treatment schedule looks like, what your insurance is likely to cover, and what side effects to be aware of. If a different approach makes more sense first, I'll tell you that. I do not provide talk therapy. My role is psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and management of interventional treatments (Spravato and TMS) along with medication when appropriate. Many of my patients also work with a therapist, and I think that combination tends to produce the best outcomes. If you don't have a therapist and want one, I can help point you in the right direction. Follow-up visits depend on the treatment plan. For Spravato, I'll see you regularly during the induction phase and continue to monitor response, side effects, and dose adjustments throughout treatment. For TMS, I oversee your treatment course and check in at key points to assess progress. For medication management, follow-ups are typically 20–30 minutes and focus on how you're responding, side effects, and any adjustments needed. Between visits, you can reach our team through the patient portal for non-urgent questions, prescription refills, or scheduling. If something urgent comes up, our staff will get you to the right person quickly. What I aim for at every visit: you leave knowing what's happening, why, and what comes next.
