About Dr. Benjamin Farahnik
Dr. Benjamin Farahnik is a board-certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (F.A.A.D.) who practices general medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. A native Angeleno, he is excited to serve the diverse and vibrant community where he grew up.
He graduated with the highest honors from UC Berkeley, where he was also a member of the Sports Medicine Team, and subsequently attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine. During medical school, he was offered a highly coveted clinical research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he learned about the management of complex dermatologic conditions and led several clinical trials studying new biologics for psoriasis. Dr. Farahnik then returned to California to complete a combined internal medicine and surgical internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center followed by a dermatology residency at UC Davis, where he served as Chief of Resident Cosmetics Education in his final year.
Dr. Farahnik strongly believes in patient-focused care, treating each patient with kindness and compassion to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience. He prides himself on staying up to date with the most recent advances in dermatology by engaging in continued education, research, and teaching. He is regularly invited to speak at national dermatology conferences and has authored over 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook articles.
Outside of dermatology, Dr. Farahnik enjoys playing and coaching basketball, watching and rooting for the Cal Bears and Los Angeles teams (Lakers, Rams, Dodgers, and Kings!), snowboarding, hiking, dancing, and getting on stage on his favorite game show “The Price is Right!”. Most of all, he loves exploring all the beauty that sunny Southern California has to offer with friends and family.
